Royal Frankincense

Finally! After years of searching, I finally have been able to get some Royal Frankincense tarts!

Boy is this scent worth the wait! It is both masculine and almost fruity at the same time! I LOVE it! Wow!

And, I will be giving 3 to Jenna, so she now has 25/26 world journeys! Only 1 more to go!

I’m a bit unclear on the history of WOrld Journey candles, but it appears as if they were introduced in 2008 and are now sold through TJMaxx/Homegood stores. Most of the WJ candles are found as tumblers, however, I have mainly only seen pictures of RF as a jar candle. Rose of Morocco is also found mainly as a jar.

In short, Royal Frankincense is one of the hardest WJ candles to find! I had to resort to Ebay to get these tarts! Thank you to my fiance for the wonderful surprise! If you can get your hands on it, your in for a rare treat!

  1. Hi Kari Ann! I found this post while looking for pics of RF on Google. I think I can answer your question about the WORLD candles, hopefully without sounding TOO much like a know-it-all. The original WORLD line was released in Q1 of 2007. There were 8 scents initially then 5 others followed (ex. R.F.). They were in YC retail stores along with the other everyday scents. But it appears that that particular scent category was retired in 2008. Tahitian Tiare Flower was the only one that became part of the everyday FLORAL line-up in 2010. Some of the others (Sicilian Orange, for example) are now (and have been) available in the World Journeys tumbler collection. Hope this helps! πŸ™‚

    • Thank you Shenkjr! It’s so hard to find information on these! And it makes perfect sense now why I missed the world line. I took a “candle hiatus” while I was an undergrad (no candle policy) and started getting really into YC around the end of 2009. So I missed that line completely 😦 I actually remember getting a sampler of the 2010 spring scents with Tahitian Tiare Flower. Thank you!!!!

      • Feel free to call me Joe, LOL! πŸ˜‰ I like studying the history of Yankee but there’s so little to go on (the Wikipedia entry is a JOKE!). Lots of bits of info. all over the place. I have a few old catalogs (yes, i bought them on ebay) so that helps clear things up, too. Maybe someday i’ll compile a book πŸ™‚ Another fact about the World line- they were the first candles to have the current label design. I think Royal Frank. came out in Christmas 2007 but not sure…
