YC Fall Preview

So I finally made it to Yankee Candle’s SAS, but without coupons or a 2/25 deal, I shied away from going crazy. I bought one candle tray from the citrus line for $2.50, and then snagged three tarts from the new fall line.

I love pecan pie and keep hearing about how strong this one is, so I grabbed it. It smells light cold, but the caramel, nuttiness, and cream are all wonderful together!

Harvest Welcome is great and screams AUTUMN! It smells like a spicer Spiced Pumpkin, with nice cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove with a bunch of pumpkin. It is very similar to the Starbucks Pumpkin Lattes, minus the espresso.

Whoopie Pie is awesome! It smells like chocolate cake with a nice cream. It is very different from Chocolate Truffle (which smells like a tootsie roll to me). I can tell this one will become a favorite!

I hated Treehouse memories. It smells like a woodsy cologne, so if you liked Over the River type scents, you’ll probably like this one. I liked Season Blessings, but it didn’t smell like fall to me, more like Kitchen Spice.

I also smelled all the new coconut scents. I hated #1 coconut and sea air. I loved #5 Coconut and vanilla bean, but my favorite was #4 coconut and lime. I also enjoyed #3 coconut and mandarin and #2 coconut and beach flowers.

The new treasures were Cinnamon Appleberry, Citrus Spice, Sunflower, Maple Sugar (Mega yum!), and Spiced Cocoa, which does not smell like the original at all! Spiced Cocoa was identical to Peppermint Mocha!

  1. I was so surprised with European fall collection because it is totally different than US one. Usually the seasonal collections are the same (but there were less scents available, like we didn’t have Pink Blush or Oceanside) but now for fall 2012 we have: Honey & Spice, Red Velvet, Camomile Tea and Blissful Autumn.

I guess I will have to go to US to buy the ones you described.

    • How is chamomile Tea? I’m very curious about that one! I think it was a European exclusive, but I’ve heard rumors that it’s at outlets in the US! Oh, and we don’t have Honey and Spice! That sounds nice! Brazilian Passion fruit actually is very different from the Wild Passion Fruit from this year. BPF is much more like fruit punch and has a much nicer throw! But it does have similar notes to WPF…so if you liked WPF, I’d say you’d love BPF 🙂
