I picked up the Glade holiday/winter edition scent Peppermint Mocha from Walmart a few weeks ago. I must say that I am impressed with this cheap candle…although it definitely is not as strong as Yankee Candle’s Peppermint Mocha.
The Scent: Cold, it smells like the peppermint hot chocolate from Panera. It has hints of cocoa powder and a huge peppermint oil scent. Once lit, I think the peppermint is the predominant scent, however, at times it seems as if you can only smell one or the other. It’s strange, one minute, my room smells like chocolate and the next like a candy cane! Overall, the scent is quite nice! B+
The Throw: Is on the weak side, but you will be able to smell it. This candle is best lit in a tiny room or as an accompaniment with a plug-in diffuser or another candle in a large room. I have had my lit in a large room, and you CAN smell it, it’s just light. Overall, I was impressed. However…this one tunnels badly! Best use a foil hat! C
The Price: These candles are constantly on sale for $2.50…and if they are not, coupons to make them that price are everywhere! So I’ll accept a light through for that price. A-
Burn Time: Decently long. I’ve been lighting it every night for the last 4 nights for at least 3-5 hours and I still have about 1/3rd of the candle left! It would definitely last for all of Christmas Day! B+
The Color: This is the one thing I hate! The color of this candle is an ugly brownish purple. I wish glade just made it brown like hot chocolate! C-
