Cafe au Lait

Well, its intermission for the Bruins game, so I’ll make a quick post!

Cafe au lait, french for coffee with milk, is one of my favorite things in the world. I love coffee and the smell of coffee…so a candle scent is perfect for me!

Yankee Candle, Scentsationals (Walmart), and bath & Body Works have all come out with a version of cafe au lait…..mostly with little success.

Yankee Candle retired this scent a few years ago, but tarts can still be found on occasion at outlets and even at the Flagship store. It is a true coffee scent with a hint of creamy milk. I loved it! It was the perfect study scent! ๐Ÿ™‚ My tarts are fairly old, and have lost some of their strength, but this guy still filled up my kitchen with that freshly roasted scent.

Yankee candle still does have Hazelnut Coffee as part of its regular line-up…which is very wonderful!

But Cafe au lait was so fun to mix other scents! French Vanilla, Buttercream, Cinnamon Stick, North Pole (vanilla mint)….all made for a latte like scent! Too bad this one retired ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

To resolve my need for a pure coffee scent, I found this scent at Walmart! Cafe au Lait by the Scentsationals line is VERY similar to Cafe au Lait! It smells like strong, roasted coffee beans! However, it doesn’t have as much of the milk scent to me! Nonetheless, this is a great substitute! I guess I could mix in some buttercream to get that true milky coffee scent! ๐Ÿ™‚

BBW did release a Cafe au lait scent as part of their French line….but it had very little throw and smelled much more sweet to me. It also was a limited edition, ie, is unavailable in stores.

So: if you like coffee scents, check out the Cafe au Lait from Scentsationals! ๐Ÿ™‚
