Pomegranate Cider

Wow, 2015 has been crazy so far! First I got the flu, then my husband got the flu…and then there was an ear infection mixed in. Anyways, I am back in the swing of things and burning candles!

First tart up for 2015: Pomegranate Cider. Surprisingly, I’ve never melted/burned this fall/winter scent…even though I am obsessed with pomegranate seeds! (Seriously, I put pom seeds in all my drinks…wine, Coke, water, orange juice….EVERYTHING.)

Pom CiderThe Scent: Pomegranate Cider is a well-balance mix of spiced and sweet apple cider with a tart and fresh pop of pomegranate juice. It is a tri-blend of sweet, spicy, and tart that is very pleasant. The apple note is very pronounced with hints of cinnamon stick….but the pomegranate juice adds a fresh tartness and sweet, almost candy-like, note. Overall, very nice and definitely reminds me of a cool autumn night. B

The Throw: I wish the throw on this tart was stronger. The reviews for Pomegranate Cider are off the charts, so I was disappointed that this tart was a light-medium at best. The scent radius was small and only occasionally could I detect its wonderful aroma. If you are looking for a gentle scent to melt for the holidays, this one would be great. You can still smell it, but it’s one of those “you get accustomed and forget it’s melting” scents. I had it melting in a large room, so I may have better luck in a small room.  C-

Overall, Pomegranate Cider is just okay, to me at least. the scent is pleasant and the throw is forgettable. This is one that I would burn/melt again…but would not run to Yankee Candle to buy.

PS: I’ve also been in Virginia for work the past few days. Here is a picture of me at VIMS (Virginia Institute for Marine Science).
