Mixology: Summer Cabin

mix sc.jpgNext up on my Mixology adventures is a masculine combination:

Summer Cabin: Midsummer’s Night and Mountain Lodge

The Scent: I hate using the term masculine to describe a scent – but masculine is the first description that comes to mind. Midsummer’s Night is the more dominant of the two – bringing a cologne and spicy patchouli scent. However, the woodsy freshness from Mountain Lodge makes that cologne scent feel more outdoorsy and balanced. Overall…I like it, but not as much as Mountain Lodge on its own. B

The Throw: The throw was the weakness. Since Mountain Lodge already has a weak throw, the overall, combined throw was a bit diluted. It was weak, with a small scent radius, but not undetectable. It would have been best for a tiny room. C-

Overall….this was a fun experiment with an okay result. The scent was nice, but the weak throw was disappointing.

  1. More mixology inspiration! This time it may be unintentional because I used to enjoy Midsummer’s Night in college, but can’t handle it anymore. I like the idea of pairing it with another scent to tone it down, something with comparable strength…maybe Soft Blanket or something really crazy like pine or lavender? Also, Mountain Lodge could probably be stronger but will always be my fave.
