New World Journey and Outlet Trip

It was a beautiful day, so I thought it’d be fun to visit my nearby outlet mall. I always enjoy that you have to walk outside to get between stores. I, of course, popped into Yankee Candle and Bath & Body Works. Nothing amazing, but a few notable mentions.

The first candle that I noticed was this new World Journey: Kyoto Autumn Leaves. It was scentless when I sniffed it, so I couldn’t even describe the scent!
I guess I missed the ‘extended releases’ of the numbered coconut collection! The old version when up to No. 5 (with No. 6 as an online only). This one smelled nice, like an herbal tea with fruit notes.
I couldn’t find No. 7, 9 and 10, but No. 11 was an interesting tropical pumpkin and No. 12 was amber (aka, I hated it). There was also a No. 6 that was Ginger and Coconut (not to be confused with the online only Mango and Coconut!).
Okay, these “healing crystal” candles were at Bath & Body Works. I hated every single one of these. Way too incensey, herbaly, and perfumey. And they were $15!  Can we talk about how BBW candles are now $25 each! When did that happen?! The sale was $10 off, which no longer makes them seem cheaper than Yankee Candle!

Okay, so I found the new Bath & Body Works lines to be disappointing. I did buy a Halloween-themed candle of Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin, but boy do I miss the old brown bag with green gingham das from the early 2000’s! And nothing excited me in Yankee Candle – even the new World Journey was lack luster! Oh well… happy hunting!

  1. Healing crystals, lol, BABW may have run the trendy train off the rails. Their prices starting going up with the marble-look candle collection this summer for $26 and every new rollout has increased from 22 to 24.50 I think.
It actually does make Yankee look more affordable.

I noticed the expanded numeral collection this summer and I remember really liking Coconut and Ginger, but didn’t see any Coconut and Amber, which would have =loving it for me😂
