Wallflower: Salted Caramel

salted caramelI am not a fan of  the Salted Caramel Wallflower bulb from White Barn. I have this Bath & Body Works Wallflower plugged in near my cat’s litter box, and it is just not jiving with me. I was expecting something a bit more “Summer Boardwalk” and caramel popcorn-like, but this one is just too caramelized and sweet for my preference.

The Scent: It smells like very caramelized sugar with perhaps a hint of maple. It is very sweet and reminds me of something I just can’t put my finger on. It’s almost like a maple syrup with brown sugar mixed in. It’s just too sweet and candy-like for me. I wish it had more of a creamy note and it desperately needs a salted note. C

The (bulb) Throw: The bulb’s throw is decent, I’d say a medium. It’s the type of throw that fills and warms up a room, but you get used to it quickly. When you first walk in – bam! – you get the maple and sugary notes. But after a few minutes, your nose acclimates. I’m prefectly happy with this type of throw for a Wallflower! B

Overall, Salted Caramel from White Barn was just not my type of salted caramel scent. It had too much of a melted, sugary syrup scent and I swear there is a maple note that just turns me off. Give it a try if you like sweet and caramel scents!
